Thanks Cathy. I did wonder about a sleeve, but I thought OHIP would not pay for it.

OHIP Will cover the Sleeve if there is a justifiable reason for it.   I am having a VSG next week because of past surgery that i have had.  There is currently no damage to my intestines but Dr. Gamora feels that leaving them alone is the best approach.  So talk to a regular pharmacist and see if they can compound your meds.  or if there is another viable option.  If there is not.  Raise this as a valid concern to your Team at the clinic for a vSG  vs RNY

Thanks for your reply. I am hoping for RNY but if a sleeve  is the only thing  available for me that's all right too.

RNY on 12/16/14

RNY is preferred and is considered the "gold standard", a VSG is only done if you have issues or concerns, and you generally have to fight a bit harder to get it

Referral - Feb 25th, 2014. Info Session - April 7th 
Surgeon#1 - May 15th  Dr. Glazer - July 23rd, Dietitian/Social Worker/RN - Aug 1st, Surgeon #2 - Sept 10th, Surgery - Dec 16th, 2014!
