Marathon Weekend is here!
To my newbie friends out there.....this is my biggest NSV to date. I, like you, have had many and each of them astounded me along the way. My underwear falling down to my knees under my skirt. Learning how to pee properly after my panniculectomy, wrapping a gym towel (which I used to call a gym FACECLOTH) around my body and be properly covered. Not having to be so uncomfortable flying because I refused to ask for a seatbelt extender (stupidly). The list goes on.
But this weekend marks my second full marathon. And i'm attempting to finish with a Boston Qualification time. 3 years ago I never would have believed this to be true...or even thought that I would WANT to do this. And here I am.
Think of me on Sunday morning, when you're having your coffee, and staying warm inside (going to be 4 degrees...brrrrr). And send me warm, and FAST thoughts!
Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
