Got my orientation date -- and I'm nervous!!
on 10/8/14 1:29 pm - Toronto, Canada
Don't be nervous! This is what orientation consisted of at my hospital: They will go over the surgery itself, in detail. You'll watch some short clip displaying the surgery. They will go over the life long vitamin requirements, the diet to be followed throughout the journey, possible complications from surgery, the requirements to be successful with the program, and in my centre, they provided our next appointment dates after.
Good luck!
My orientation was at HRRH but there was over 20 people. It was a large conference room and it was fairly full, plus almost everyone brought someone with them.
Referral - Feb 25th, 2014. Info Session - April 7th
Surgeon#1 - May 15th Dr. Glazer - July 23rd, Dietitian/Social Worker/RN - Aug 1st, Surgeon #2 - Sept 10th, Surgery - Dec 16th, 2014!
In at my orientation in Thunder Bay, there were four other people plus supports but apparently numbers of intake have skyrocketed now that we have our own surgeons. You will have paperwork to fill out as well. Then you can make your own appointments for your next step. They don't give you the appointments. Good luck, have fun and yes, ask questions!!!
