Average wait time for a surgery date?
I had my surgery through HRRH and it depends on which surgeon you get for your wait time. I had Dr. Sohi and my time from orientation to surgery was almost 8 months. It felt like a long time but there is so much for you to learn so take the time to read everything you can and even that still won't completely prepare you for what is ahead. The more you can put into practise ahead of surgery the better prepared for life after you will be. Good luck to you.
My dates are in my signature. At my last surgeon's appointment we were told that no dates are available due to funding, I think? Last I heard they were booking into April of next year.
Referral - Feb 25th, 2014. Info Session - April 7th

Hi! I was at the August 25 orientation too. I called the booking line last week and they said they have a stack of August 25 charts, but that mine wasn't there, so they couldn't give me dates.. but to check in this week. I just called about an hour ago and someone different told me that they are still working on people who went to July orientation, which is what the same person told me a month ago.

I have been on this board a pretty long time as I had my surgery almost 6 years ago...from what I have seen with the increasing amount of people having bariatric patients the wait time is usually around a year or so, give or take a couple of months..and truly that isn't much different than when I had my surgery all that time ago.
Take the time to make positive changes in your life, count out the pop, start walking more..positive changes make ALL the difference on recuperation and success~!
prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.
life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!. Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!

I'm at TWH. I put through my referral July 2013, there was a hiccup and it was sent again February 2014. Had Orientation July 2, 2014 and with my open availability and checkups for cancellations from Orientation to Surgery is 4 months. though this was fairly swift in my opinion, without open availability you would probably be looking at 8months to a year.
Hope this helps.
