What are you eating/doing today? (Tuesday)

Pin wheel steak is like a pin wheel cut sandwich. I take a chunk of cheese ( usually Swiss ) wrap spinach around the cheese . I debone, defat a piece of steak. I like a piece of rib steak. ( no deboning required) I use spice rub and let the steak sit overnight.( 5 spice and salt and pepper)  I then wrap the steak around the spinach and cheese. I hold it together with toothpicks and either BBQ it or put it in the oven for 15- 18 minutes at 375. I try not to overcook the steak because as we all know  dry meat is no good and makes us sick.  After it is done  I let it rest for about 3 minutes  I cut it against  the wrap in about a 3/4" slice  Hence the pinwheel effect .  For me that is enough for a serving size plus I get my veg and dairy serving at the same time as my main protein

I have seen the veg be substituted for asparagus  but I am not a asparagus eater. I guess the cheese can be substituted for your flavour choice .

I got the idea from Metro grocery store near my house. They sell a similar product there that is assembled in the meat dept.

Thank you for your recipe! That. Sounds. Awesome. Definitely going to give it a go! So you pound out the steak to make it thin enough to roll? I can imagine this being very delicious with Swiss, spinach and red peppers. Or any combination that suits you I guess!

Would you consider posting this recipe on the Ontario Recipes forum under "Beef Recipes"? I know many would enjoy this!

Morning all :)

CC, your plot to take over the world is cracking me the hell up! Go girl!

House "stuff" to do today, doctor appointment this afternoon, meeting my girlfriend for coffee after since I wasn't feeling up to it yesterday, and whatever else the day brings! Still struggling with the food avoidance et al, but getting better. Down a couple of pounds (unnecessary) so topping up with protein shakes when food won't work.

8.5 years post-op

- coffee with cream x 3 over the morning -

B - Source Greek 50, Premier protein shake (vanilla)

S - (1 egg) egg salad, 1 slice whole grain toast, a little butter

L - 3/4 cup tuna pasta salad (mostly tuna salad [tuna, mayo, celery, green onion], a little pasta) {If not, Premier protein shake (chocolate)}

S - Chike protein iced coffee, while out: coffee or iced tea

D - 3" piece of French stick halved with 2 homemade meatballs, tomato sauce, sautéed onions and peppers, parm

S - likely just tea

Have a great day!
