Didn't know you were feeling unwell again.  I sure hope you aren't back at work yet.  Hope this gets sorted out soon for you Karen

Hey Barb,

I am well, actually. Short version: I have been on a transdermal narcotic pain patch since my illness last year, I want to get off said narcotic, tapering/weaning process has been quite hellish. This too shall pass. :)

Working on a RTW plan - hopefully before Christmas. Can't wait to get back to "life"!

K.

Sounds horrible. Hope it gets better. Are you still in pain as well?

The worst of it (for now, the next taper may bring it all on again), I hope, is subsiding. Had I known what stopping this particular medication would mean in terms of physical dependence (not addiction) and withdrawal, I would NEVER had agreed to starting it, despite the insufferable pain when I was ill. Since I am feeling so well, and have been for a few months steadily, I wanted to get off the narcotic if possible, as I suspected that the pain issue was likely resolved by now with general wellness and management of symptoms. Very gratefully, I am not experiencing pain thus far (so likely/hopefully a wise decision to get off the med). However, the intense anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, food avoidance/nausea, body weakness, irritability headaches, .... I could go on and on LOL.... is pretty damned brutal. The associated weight loss (4 pounds so far) is NOT okay, and I'm working hard on it. 4 pounds is a lot to lose when you're 120 pounds to start with.

Anyway, I don't mean to come across as whining. I share only to let others know that if they're going through something similar (in some ways, almost like food addiction), they're not alone. And it does get better.

Karen :)

Would those meditations/relaxation videos help with this Karen?  Or are you already doing them?  I hope you feel better as soon as possible.
