Another question
I haven't heard that. Honestly everyone goes through the same process. Dieticians, social worker, clinician, Dr. Glazer (for HRRH), they all need to pass you first.
Referral - Feb 25th, 2014. Info Session - April 7th
Surgeon#1 - May 15th Dr. Glazer - July 23rd, Dietitian/Social Worker/RN - Aug 1st, Surgeon #2 - Sept 10th, Surgery - Dec 16th, 2014!
There is no such thing as emergency WLS. There are situations where people need to go back in due to complications.
A friend of mine had a bowel obstruction and bumped both surgeries that were occurring in Ottawa that day.
I'm assuming bigger hospitals have a little more flexibility and have room for emergencies.

Many bariatric surgeons are also general surgeons - the spaces are held for cancer patients and other surgeries requiring immediate attention.
