Looking for updated recommendations for plastic surgeon in GTA or SW Ontario

Hello All,

I've been searching the threads but not having much luck.  I lost over 100 lbs but still weigh 200 lbs at 5' 6" (woman).  My weight has been stable for a few years.  I'm looking to have a Tummy Tuck (panni covered by OHIP I hope), arm lifts and breast lifts, and hopefully a mini face lift someday (hanging skin on my neck).   Please message me or post your recommendations for plastic surgeons for one  or all or some of these procedures.  I want surgeons experienced working with bariatric patients.  What procedures can be combined?  I already have a long vertical scar so I think it would be the "anchor" tummy tuck surgery I would want?  Please send any info. at all my way ASAP?  Thanks so much.

The top names you will hear for Plastic Surgeons familiar with Gastric Bypass patients in Ontario are

Dr. Narayanan Nandagopal - Scarborough

Dr. Arjang Yazdani - London

Dr. Damir Matic - London

All 3 are top notch surgeons who all work with OHIP. If you are hoping to have anything covered by OHIP you must be referred by your family physician.

I have had an achor cut tummy tuck, breast reduction and arm reduction all done by Dr. Yazdani with fantastic results.

After all said and done my plastic cost me 20,500(breast implant, partial tummy tuck, inner medial thigh lift) and I would have not qualified for ohip coverage so did not apply.

I went to see Dr Jugenburg in Toronto. He is amazing, just way over priced. If I had the money though I would have him do my upgraded panni to a tummy tuck and my batwings as he is rated THE best in plastics in Canada.

I did a lot of research and decided to go with Dr Tumi in Barrie. He has done a number of bariactric patients with incredible results and is comparatively the same rate as the other surgeons in the GTA that twins4me listed above. So for an OHIP approved panni that's upgraded to a tummy tuck with a mons repair and flank lipo, its $5,000 taxes in. Dr Jugenburgs rate for the same, not including lipo is GULP $12,995.00.

Some may say you get what you pay for, in this case I fully trust Dr Tumi and have seen his results, outstanding truly. I just can't do $12,995 for work that 4 other plastics consult said they would do for $5k.

My advise, first get several referrals from your GP or even your bariactric surgeon. Set up several consults, take it from there. I know a couple of GTA surgeons will not consider you for surgery until you reach a certain weight. You may be at your own weight goal which is fantastic, but you must ensure they understand you are comfortable with where you are today, otherwise you may find they ask you to return once your at their desired weight for you.

Good luck, it's an exciting time!

Thank you so much, it is so helpful to get an idea on the prices before I bother going to surgeons for a consult!  I had no idea there could be such a variance.

Hi, I had a panniculectomy/extended tummy tuck/hernia repair & a breast lift & reduction done by Dr M.M. Elahi last January, I am very, very happy with the results. He is a extremely gifted surgeon and a really nice person. I have also lost about a 100lbs and even though I wasn't a bariatric patient, I had 3 large babies by C-section(all vertical cuts) and my pannis was a grade 3( skin hanging on thighs), he didn't do the anchor cut to  which I was very  pleased, to not have to traded one scar for another. Good Luck with the next phase of your weight loss journey.

Dr. Daniel Martin on Keele St. in Toronto did my breast reduction and fully tummy tuck. I love the results and his price was lower then any of the other doctors that I seen. PM me if you want more details. Good Luck.
