Thanks for the tip. For now I can't do snacks. Always too full. But for sure I will keep that in mind. In Ottawa, they told us to aim at minimun 60g of prot per day. That's alot in the beginning....but I always seem to make it. 40g seems more realistic if you ask me. You guys are lucky!

Yup, you don't need to worry about carbs at all at this stage. Just track your protein, make sure every meal and snack is has a good protein food and that you eat the protein first and that you're getting your minimum amount of protein per day, and everything else should fall into place.

Thanks!  I want to use this tool to the fullest. That's why I always ask the vets: aka the experts lol.

Heh. Well, I'm definitely not a vet yet at a little under 2 years out, but I do remember the early stages! :) Good luck with your journey, sounds like you're doing great!

You don't need to worry about carbs at 3 weeks out. You're doing great! Focus on your protein intake, getting all your fluids in and taking your vitamins. If you are choosing foods that are allowable for your stage (puree) and eating your protein first, you couldn't possible overdo it on the carbs which if why you really don't need to track for now.

Once you are eating more regular foods at 5+ weeks out you can start to keep an eye on your carb intake. I was never given a rule but I lost well eating between 600-800 calories, 80+ grams of protein and 50 grams of total carbs or less (I don't count net carbs). It's great that you're tracking on MFP, keep it up as a habit but I wouldn't worry about your totals other than protein.

Don't worry about "starvation mode" either. There is little evidence to support it in general, but it certainly does not happen in obese people. Just about every person on this site can attest to that!
