Shopping in the States - what to buy?
Hi friends, I'm going to drive down to the States next weeked (TO PICK UP MY NEW PUPPY AHHHH) and I want to know if there are any great SF/protein products you like that I could pick up in the states. I am pre-op so obviously I don't need to do a full haul of supplies, but I thought it might be good to try out a few things, esp since I am trying to shed as much weight as possible before surgery. I've seen a thread on this topic before but couldn't find it.
Hi:
my list is generally
sugar free chocolate syrup
sugar free dry pudding mixes
Laughing cow light cheese (they have cool flavours and cheaper)
Pillsbury mixes, cake and muffin, sugar free icing sugar
B12 if we need it
sugar free candy (depending on selection).
I get all this stuff at Walmart, that's about it but everyone likes different things, I use these ingredients mainly for making yogurt ice cream

I got the idea from World according to egg face
I have an ice cream maker and it is awesome
2 containers source exotic yogurt
2 scoops chocolate protein powder
couple of squirts of sugar free chocolate syrup (big squirts)
hand full of walnuts chopped
1/4 package sugar free banana pudding mix
1/4 cup table cream
Mix all together, and put through ice cream maker
makes about 6 cups, I make it ahead, freeze individually and then
savour the flavour.

you can make any flavours you would like, just use vanilla yogurt and go from there
due to my hypoglycemia issue I can't buy ice cream or frozen yogurt in the grocery store but this seems to work.

From SAMs club protein shakes pre maid but only if you like them as I bought the vanilla which I did not drink...
mini calcium pills they are half the size of those sold here
sams club dissolving vitamin b comes in pack of two bottels and I need one a week I sometimes take two
swiss miss makes a good low sugar hot chocolate mix but I think I like safe ways better now
i bought sf ketchup but really for the half a teaspoon I might use I could have just stuck to the regular stuff
i bought all the stuff incase I experienced opti trots or constipation but I used very little and now if any one were looking in my closet would think I had serious issues.....lol
they have some cool flavours of sf pudding mixes but again I bought lots and did not like it at all
i find for the most part I like to buy vitamines there and clothing.
And I buy zote laundry soap bars there because I make my own laundry soap, I also buy lye for regular soap making as it is hard to get in Thunder Bay . I have looked for my welless liquid calcium in Duluth but can not find it but I've been told costco sells it much cheaper it is good....
thought I would share some of my list, I'm able to drive down so do not bring lye back if your flying that's for sure.... Oh and I buy the real Greek yogurt that originated from Greece I think it's called Fage, use causation when bringing back dairy as I believe your only allowed 30.00 worth for 48 hours and charge a large amount of duty once you go over that limit. I read that on this forum a couple summers ago. On your search part type in shopping list for the US and other posts will come up. Have fun shopping
We tend to stock up on water flavourings (my new tummy doesn't like unflavoured water anymore) and Jello SF puddings that are not available in Canada. I can vouch for the Swiss Miss SF hot chocolate too. Very nice on a cold winter night!
