Weight loss is it too fast
So when I started optifast for 1 week then a high protein low carb low fat diet for 1 week I weighed 283lbs at the beginning day of surgery I was 269.8lbs and I had surgery on Friday August 8th at 2:30pm I weighed myself today and I'm down to 258lbs absolutely excited but wondering if this is too fast? I have a bad habit of weighing everyday which I swore I wouldn't do but because it's happening so fast I love weighing all of a sudden lol
Five days and 11.8lbs down all thought I'm happy with it I want to make sure I'm doing it healthy.
i am still working on getting all my protein in and today started adding skim milk to my yogurt and things that I eat plus protein shake but it's still a work in progress.

That is wonderful as long as you are getting all of your nutrients, or are working toward that. Just cheer!!!!! The weight loss will eventually slow down so take it while you can.
And I asked you earlier today - did you not post about trying the Premier protein shakes to get your protein in?

You know I am not sure, HOWEVER - I have frozen them myself. Tasted good to me!
I will email them tomorrow and ask - I am curious too, glad you brought it up.
You are up late, lady. Sort of. Sadly, I wish someone else on the forum had insomnia like me. LOL
I will let you know what Premier says about that. xo
P.S. REMIND ME. You know what my memory is like these days. haha

They might taste good while still frozen if you're doing them as a frozen treat, but if you freeze them and then thaw them to drink as liquid, they get gloppy and horrid. I learned this from sad experience. LOL.

Enjoy the weight loss, but make sure you get your protein in as it could impact your healing. I think that my Centre required me to get a couple of protein shakes in a day at the very beginning (first two or three weeks after surgery****il I started eating more solid forms of protein.
The Premier Protein shakes that Karen mentions is a great option. Wish I had known about them when I had my surgery. I didn't find them until a couple if months after my surgery, and I use them occasionally to supplement my protein, or for when I'm "on the go".

As long as you're getting your protein and fluids in it should be fine. Some people lose a lot the first week post surgery because they lose water weight from all the IV fluids. If you don't take in enough protein your body will start eating muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat by volume so this too can result in a bigger weight loss but it is not healthy. The numbers on the scale are less important at this stage than the numbers of protein and fluids you take in.
keep working on getting the nutrients in and staying strong and healthy.
