Well I had my surgery yesterday at HRRH around 2:30ish with Dr Sohi. I was in my room by 6:30pm and pretty well slept until 4:30am had a few minor issues my heart rate was very high and I began running a fever and it hurt to breath but aside from that things are going okay and I feel good. The pain is minimal but I haven't been passing gas which is not making the pain go away. Can't wait to start losing. I lost 16lbs between the one week of optifast and the one week of high protein low carb and low fat diet I was on which is great. Hoping to go home tomorrow.

Congrats!  That is a big step and you've taken it!  My heart rate and temp went up in the first week too.  It was my body's way of telling me I wasn't drinking enough. As soon as I increased my drinking (and later, liquid protein intake), it made a huge difference in how I felt.  Keep on keeping on! I'm over 4 months out now and I feel great!

Congrats! The best thing that you can do is walk and do your best to stay hydrated! I am four days post surgery and I understand exactly where you are at. Hang in there and you will find this board to be a life saver!

The gas sometimes takes awhile to disperse...keep moving and sipping like everyone suggests.

Also ask for a warm blanket and put it over your tummy, it helps.

Good luck wit the rest of your recovery...Happy healing.
