VSG on 05/06/14

Hey guys, been awhile! I've been super busy and have not been checking in with OH, and I have missed many of you! I know how much updates like this helped me while waiting, so I thought I would share my 3-month before and after photo, but of course, I can never see photos properly on OH. So please feel free to go to my profile and check it out! Sorry I can't get it to work, especially since I am not computer illiterate. I click on a photo on OH and I just see a loading image gif for-ev-er. Grr.

Anyway, I'm down ~53 lbs total, 38 since surgery (the photos are pre-op but post-opti). I feel amazing! I take the stairs everywhere, I hike in the woods, etc etc, and I have more energy. I have had to get rid of a lot of clothes! Well, put aside to get rid of, I should say. My BMI has gone from 48 to 41, how about that! Pretty soon, I'll be at a weight that they wouldn't operate on, lol.

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying summer! If you are waiting... read lots. If you are going to get a sleeve... be prepared that you won't be able to relate to 80% of the literature and many of the early on experiences of RNY'rs. But no dumping! ;)

So awesome to hear that you are doing well! I had a VSG as well in May and my stats are similar to you. You are so right when you mention the amount of energy you have post op! Keep up the great work!

So happy for you!!!! If you don't mind me asking what was your starting weight? I get my sleeve on Monday. Any advise? How was your post surgery pain? Did you stay in the hospital for 1 or 2 nights?

I was 305.8, now I'm 252.6!

Post-op you will be sore, but you can get through it! Just take baby steps. Sip sip sip. Sorry I can't write more - prepping for a camping trip! Thanks!!
