Fabulous idea.

I just posted it on the RNY board...is that the one you mean? I really only hang out here.
Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
Thank heavens for the vets. Without them, this would be a wasteland of newish people sharing protein drink recipes and sometimes questionable information.
The vets tell us things that our surgical practices typically do not-either because they do not think to or they simply do not know. The vets are also much better at encouragement than most anyone else we have in our lives, whether that encouragement be a gentle reminder or a boot in the ass.

If I didn't come on here, I probably wouldn't be aware of the reasoning behind some pains I had in 2013. One was for my gallbladder and the other, a bowel obstruction. Listening to other's experiences, I knew that the pain I was experiencing was not good, and I saved my life having the knowledge to get my butt into the hospital immediately. Bowel obstructions can be life threatening. Mine was, and it could have turned out poorly.

Kelly;
Thank you so much for this. I'm 9 days post ops and scared to death. I don't want to be the person I was 10 days ago. I want to be the person who can push herself away from the table knowing when enough is enough.
Thank you for your wisdom and insight. They are more appreciated than you can even imagine.

You are most-welcome. Don't be scared...be calm. This next bit is tricky....getting everything in and staying hydrated and full of protein. Then, ohhh, enjoy the few months after that where your clothes fall off of you. Food is consumed at such a slow and nourishing pace. This year is going to be a great one for you. Enjoy it and let us know how you do!

No idea how I would have made it through this first year without all our vets.
thank you posting this, it was beautiful, and oh so true.
We are very lucky to have so many vets stick around.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Annette 😄
I think, like Karen said, people think we have no lives for sticking around here. I like it here. It's cozy for the most part.
