I am from Ottawa - luckily I don't have to travel for this - I can only imagine that adds to the stress.  There are a few hotels in the general vicinity of the Civic (not terribly close, but a short taxi or car-ride away).  Here's the names of a few - just google them and you'll be able to find their websites and find out about rates, availability, etc.

• Travelodge Ottawa Hotel & Conference Centre

• Embassy West Hotel

• BEST WESTERN PLUS MACIES HOTEL

They aren't top of the line, but they should be affordable (for Ottawa) and comfortable.

hello new member i am not new but i dont' really post things until today.  good luck to you my surgery is june 24.  I am taking health wise i am guessing similar to optifast. not enjoying it at all cant wait for surgery good luck to u
