thanks for replying :)  I wish I would have seen that Oprah episode, I miss her show :( LOL  Congratulations on your amazing success with the RNY.  You weren't nervous at all?  Do you get sick from eating even a tiny bit of sugars?

I was nervous about the week before.I was questioning if I was doing the right thing.I do get sick if I eat too fast.I do get sick if I eat something that has sugar in it. I love this website it does give you information that the you don't get from the doctors.

Listen to the vets. They can help you a lot. I am very excited that I am getting smaller.I am nervous about the long hall.I just follow eating protein then veggies.

Best wishes to you.

I am having the sleeve thru TWH on sept 29. I have celiac disease and need to be able to have my entire intestine scoped (if need to) but would not be able to with the bypass....

No problem. I'm excited but also crazy nervous. I have 2 small kids and always worry about worst case scenario :(

At 2 years out, I am definitely a dumper. I avoid sugary foods for this reason, they can make me very sick. I *wanted* to dump though. I knew it would provide some serious disincentive when it came to eating sugary foods. This is not a cure-all for making bad food choices. I still have cravings and I still make poor decisions sometimes. Sometimes I get sick and sometimes I don't, but it does help in everyday situations - I ALWAYS pass up treats at work. I'm very scared of being ill like that in public (and there is always, always junk food in my office)

Hello!

My surgeon told me that because I have heartburn I should get the RNY, because the sleeve and the band make it worse, and with RNY it can go away all together. Of course, he let me decide, but he also said that studies show that on average people that get the RNY lose more weight than with the sleeve, or the band. Not to say the sleeve is a bad procedure, but it's the new kid on the block right now as far as bariatric surgeries go, so you're going to see a lot of people with it.

Make sure to look up your own facts and listen to your own opinion as far as which is the best for you!
