No harm in trying it for a couple of weeks to see what happens. Please just remember - you are taking advice from professionals who are not professionals with weight loss surgery.

How is it different for us? I've seen and read a lot of mixed opinions so I'm just curious on your take

April,
I think there is some wisdom in their suggestion. 1000 calories is probably good for a WLS patient looking to maintain, but you do copius amounts of exercise from what you've previously described, so you are not necessarily the run of the mill WLS patient.
Sometimes, you need that extra bump of calories to jig your metabolism back into the swing of things. No harm in trying it out. People often hit stalls earlier on in their WL journey, when their calories are in the 500-600 range. At 1000 calories per day, you are probably burning lots of that with the exercise you do, putting you down in that range.
Not an expert (obviously)- just my opinion.

That's basically what they've been saying. They said a low-ball estimate would be that I burn 500 calories in an hour long bootcamp, and if I eat 1050 calories, I'm only netting 500. So even though they've told me to significantly increase my calories, I am making a deal that I'll aim to net 1000 a day. So bootcamp days I eat 1500, non-bootcamp days I eat 1300, days with no activity I'll eat 1200 (since non work out days are 16 hour days, one of which is actually a 16 hour work day, I need the fuel to get me through)

Sounds like you had a thoughtful and diligent plan in place. There isn't any reason that you should not succeed. You sound very motivated and conscious of what you are doing.
When we messaged last week about the 5 day pouch test, I wasn't aware of just how much exercise you were doing and how regimented you were with your diet. That eating plan definitely would not suit you. What you have going sounds reasonable. I bet you will notice a big difference once you've been at it a couple of week. Don't freak out if you notice a slight gain before coming back down. Maybe stay away from the scale for a bit. I know it is hard. I am an everyday, multiple times a day weigher. LOL!
Over the last month, when I had noticed a gaining trend, I was getting really angry and anxious about the damn thing, so I brought it to school with me and gave it to another teacher (a good friend). She kept it under her desk and as she was also looking to lose some weight, we made a pact to weigh in together every Thursday and only every Thursday. It helped.

That's an awesome idea! I gave my scale to my roommate, who always sleeps so late. So I know I can't 'cave' and weigh myself and freak myself out in a moment of total anxiety.lol So a weigh in will have to be planned now. I plan on weighing myself the second week of june.

I tried on jeans and dress pants that were super tight and they felt really good today:)
