A year already!?
I am a few days past my one year surgaversary. I wish I could be as creative as many of you with your posts on your journeys so far...but here goes.
I can honestly say my life has changed in a hundred or more ways since my RNY.
I can cross my legs. I can't believe I can do that! I can shave easily, I could go on about some of these kind of daily life improvements, but some of the most amazing things are that I can fit into size 8-10 from 26-28 or a tight 5X. I tried on my wedding outfit the other day, its loose 24 years later! Shopping is insane, Costco is my favorite place to shop, I take everything back as I shrink.
I go to a gym, incredible I actually love going! I go 5 days a week, treadmill and swimming, no weights but this works well for me. Oh, and I no longer use my cane! I graduated to the cane from a walker (I have a brain injury that effects nerves in my legs and feet). I don't walk perfectly, but to me its total freedom.
Life is amazing, truly it is. I am near my goal and I am looking into plastics, but the reality is I won't be getting that Barbie look but may do a tt and my batwings.
How this year went by so fast I have no idea! It gets harder and harder as I get to goal and the real work, maintenance , will be the challenge. But, I know I can do this. I have too. My husband saved my life in 2011 and now it's my turn. RNY has really given me what I need to make this the best life I can have, so here we go, onto the next part of the journey!
Thanks to everyone here over this past year and a bit, your all apart of my success, so I thank you! I have met some great new lifetime friends. My surgery twin Melissa, my pals Norma and Sarah that I met at orientation and still get together with on occasion. All my new OH friends like Monica from Peterborough, Ms Calla, gwynnkitty, Kellybelly, Katie. I could write all your names but you all know who you are! Oh, and I cannot live without my R & R 3.0 friends!!
Holy, this wasn't meant to be an academy award speech, see I am not a very good writer am I! Ok, I am done.
I will sit down one of these days and post some photos, but seriously I should be at the gym, haha!
Annette 😄
Happy One Year!
