Dr. Pereira Hong's office called and gave me my date. July 22! YAY!

Up until now, I'd only told my family and 3 friends.  This morning I sent out a mass email to about 15 of my closest friends to tell them the big news.  Every response I get brings tears to my eyes...I'm more stoked now than ever!   I know a mass email seems kind of cold but I really wanted everyone to find out at one time and I wanted to make sure they understood how things would change for me since eating out and drinking is sort of central to our social group.

Congratulations on both! Time will fly as you get ready for your date and start Opti. I also told me closest friends... and then I pretty much told everyone! Haha. I didn't have a single negative comment, which surprised me. Maybe the naysayers kept it to themselves. Either way, I'm glad I did it.

And there is nothing to say that eating with friends can't be a part of your future. Healthy food can be tasty food!

Congrats! That is exciting news. I told a lot of people when I had surgery- less stressful for me than trying to keep it secret. LOL
To this day, if anyone asks how I lost it all, I have no problems telling them straight up. The whole reason I decided to pursue WLS was because I had heard a rumor that a parent at my school had it. When I asked, they were very honest and forthcoming. This sparked my interest and the rest was history.
Who knows who you'll impact by sharing your journey, so good for you (IMO) for telling your friends and family. Good luck!
