Aloe Vera Gel?

Has anyone had experience using Aloe Vera Gel for any tummy/pouch issues? A friend had a hiatus hernia operation and is having issues (the netting around his stomach has slipped and his digestive issues are hurting him) and he was told to try this out. He said it works wonders. Anyone else try it? He was told to try this instead of papaya enzymes. Not sure why. 

How does he use it?

Yes, it's from his naturopath. 

My mother was taking that about 35 years ago to help with digestion.  We always had a bottle of it in the fridge.  Not sure how well it worked but remember her having it around all the time.

I remember my nana putting it on my sunburn, but telling me not to eat it because it was poisonous lol 

There are different kinds.  My mom bought food grade gel.

Maybe they mean the aloe vera juice you drink? I have seen it at Superstore before..

It is ingested, but not the juice like you're showing. More of a gel that you get from the naturopath. Just wondered who had tried it.
