Hello! Anyone else a REVISION from vsg to rny?
Hi All!
Greetings from the Deep South (of Canada, that is). I have a revision from vsg to rny scheduled for May 13th. My surgeon is Dr John Hagen at Humber River in Toronto.
Quickie background- I had a vsg in 2009, lost 90 lbs and kept it off 3 yrs. Developed severe depression in 2011 and due to the meds and the illness, gained 70 back, but they look and feel like 100. I suddenly have back fat, an apron and thighs that greet each other continuously as I walk.
I am a single mom, and need to do this for myself and my kids.
has anyone else had this revision? Any thoughts, experiences, comments etc, appreciated :)
G.
Hi G, I had a VBG in 90s..Dr Hagan did my revision June 27/13..He is the best at what he does.. My advice is follow the rules and you cant go wrong..I reached my original goal weight 140lbs at less than 9 months out..I started out at 277 lbs.. I have had ZERO issues so far.. They say revisions do not do as well but I proving them wrong. You get what you give with this tool. Just remember this surgery does not fix our heads. I will cheer you on G, Dr Hagan is great. Good luck and keep posting .....Krista...

Very best wishes to you! Not a revision sorry, so I can't offer any experience there, but I did have RNY 8 years ago with Dr. Hagen and I truly can't say enough positive things about him. You're in excellent hands. Keep us posted!
