Hello...

My friend lives in Trenton, Ontario and is desperate for surgery but her family doctor keeps telling her to diet and exercise. Can anybody give me a name of a doctor in Trenton/Belleville area that will refer her?

Go to a walk in clinic... They should be able to help

I agree, have her try a walk in clinic. I have a friend in Kingston whose doctor refused to refer him. He went to a walk in clinic downtown and bam has the referran and a new doctor. Good luck to your friend! :)

the doctor does not have to agree with giving you a referral, he just is bound to give it by law. I believe that if the doctor is not a specialist in the area in question ie(bariatrics) then he MUST refer you to a doctor who is. My dr. disagreed with my referral, I told him that he need'nt agree or disagree, just give me the referral so I could be better informed about my options, and he did so
