Agreed Birdie.... Also no one was jumping the gun, you asked so we answered, I have seen this question on here before. There is always a reason why it is asked and its usually either they are tempted to cheat or have cheated and want to make themselves feel better. Also 3 weeks is hard but not overly seeing you have to practice this the rest of your life if you are committed. You wanted to stir the pot ... so here you go.
Hi Buddy, I had a very difficult time with three weeks of Optifast. One thing I have wondered is why the Ottawa clinic requires 3 weeks of Optifast while others are only 2 weeks? I found the three weeks almost torturous, and I am very committed to this process. While I didn't cheat, can't say I wasn't tempted on a couple of my darker days as well as being very sick one day and having to leave work early. I was very bound up the whole time despite taking the Metamucil. It is one of those things like Buckley's Cough Syrup, "tastes bad but it works". I will admit that doing the Opti for the 3 weeks did help to prepare me for post-operative life (so far). Hang in there, although you are a man I would explain it to be something like child birth...It is "painful" for awhile and then when you are done you are done...it will be a distant memory in your journey towards better health. :)
