Hey guys and gals!

I met with Dr. Urbach's surgeon Fellow (I am terrible at remembering their names) this morning and I'm so happy to report that my surgery is going to be Tuesday May 6th at 2pm at TWH! I won't know who my surgeon is until the day of, but I am confident about all the TWH surgeons.

As I have known since the beginning of this process, because of my past Crohn's Disease and it's related abdominal surgeries, I will be having a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. Because I have already got some gallstones, they will be attempting to remove my gallbladder at the same time, to avoid having to go back in later (fingers crossed).

I start Opti on April 15th, for three weeks, which means Opti over my birthday (April 19th). So I've decided to make the weekend of the 12/13th a big party to celebrate my birthday, surgery and also housewarming (we move tomorrow).

As you can see from my timeline, I've had a pretty reasonable wait time from start to finish, though I should say that I first asked for a referral from my GP in May 2013. I didn't actually get my referral until I saw my gastroenterologist a few months later. So I will be about 1 year from when I first started my journey to surgery.

Thanks to everyone who has listened to my vents and answered my questions! Can't wait to hop on that Bench!
