I'm Melting!!!!

Wow.....they warned you about the psychological journey you were going on after this surgery but who would have thought!

I knew going into this that it was rapid weightloss. But who would have thought u actually "melt away".  I watched my younger sister go through this 2 years ago, but I didn't live with her so I didn't get to watch the progression physically and psychologically.

I am now 12 1/2 weeks post op (RNY) and as of today down a total of 65 lbs(20lbs from opti). The first 30 didn't really effect me I didn't notice a real difference but... it's getting a little trippy now!

I bang my elbow and go to rub it and I have to stop and remember there is less fat and more bone there.  Same with walking by a glass building and catching ur reflection in the window/wall  (I work downtown Toronto and pass 100's). Typing on the computer and seeing ur skinny fingers, hands and wrists.. it's a lot to get used to in such a short time. I have to say the weirdest is waking up in the morning and laying there and actually being able to feel lighter this could totally be a head game but that's a nice one lol. I'm Taking it one day at a time and learning to love all the changes and the new me as the days go by but I think the brain has a little catch up to do!!

Very cool Crystal :)  I'm only a month out but can relate to a bit of what you're saying. My ankles and wrists are kinda pretty...lol...maybe I'm not so 'big boned' afterall :).

I think you are right, there will be lots of mind adjustments to make as our bodies change...

It's such a weird, but wonderful process. All the best on your journey!

I know what you mean I had surgery jan 20th down 61lbs total since opti . I look at my ankles and think wow they are so skinny .

I look in the mirror and my face has changed so much . I got in my car and thought some moved my seat back as my stomach did not touch the steering wheel.

i love it !! Let it melt away like the snow
