Sorry to jump in here, but you ladies seem to have a handle on your meals. I noticed there isn't much fruit, if any. Is this because you're focused on getting protein first? I'd be happy to hear how you decide, I'm starting to worry about food choices post op, and trying to learn . I'm hoping the nutrition class before surgery will answer most of my questions?
thanks,
Jessica

Hi Jessica. A lot of people are deterred from fruit for a few reasons, their carb content (eve though they are good carbs) and toleration. I cannot tolerate more than a few grapes, even at three years post-rny. The natural sugar content is too much for me. We are able to get good carbs in from veggies. My family doctor told me once that we need 5 fruits and/or veggies a day. As long as I get veggies (which also isn't always the case) then i'm good. Thank goodness for vitamins! :-)

Good morning. Had a really great first swim workout with my hubby/coach. We didn't kill each other! Hooray!
Today/tonight I have a 30 minute run and 45 minute swim. Eating is getting interesting. Yesterday I brought a small wrap (turkey and cheese) to have in between my run (hour and 15 minutes) and hour swim. Then I had choir practice. I was STARVING, like real hunger when I got home. I ate a small piece of lasagna. Out of character for me, but I feel great today.
Still trying to get more food and carbs in. Unsure of dinner plans, but my totals are high before dinner. So maybe a kale shake when I get home from my swim
