Ohhh I wish I could too. I have my son going to dance class. He will be missing two weekends in the next few weeks, so he has to go. Otherwise, I think I would go!!

Congratulations for becoming a "long timer" and best of all, thanks for staying on the board and not disappearing into thin air like so many long-timers do!! :)

Congrats on all you've accomplished! Be proud!

Thanks Dawn. Members like you and Barb helped me so much during the early stages of my journey, that I feel it's important to do the same. I do feel that my first year was such a blur, as life changed so drastically, that sometimes I don't think I can help our new friends out, as I plain and simple don't remember things like the stages after surgery. I can go on for days about iron though :-)

I'm so impressed with your hard work and consistent efforts. Although you have had, and continue to have bumps in your journey, you persevere and have a great attitude! I'm only 6 months in and thought my resolve would never waver -- wrong.  Right now I'm dealing with some issues I like to call my "mind fields"-- which are minor hic-ups in comparison. Thank you for your post—it put things into a realistic perspective for me.

Wishing you good health on your continuing journey.

It is really hard to actually grasp the concept that old demons will re-surface in the beginning. I remember wondering how it was possible for someone to go off the wagon and try sugar. I couldn't even stand the thought of anything sugary in the beginning. At 6 months my nerve-endings were healed and I felt hunger again....mostly head-hunger, but actual hunger was there. That threw me....even though I was told many times by vets to "just wait" and "enjoy the honeymoon period". I did enjoy it. I liked the fact that I didn't care about food at that time. It helped me face a lot, as I couldn't use food to soothe my sorrows anymore.

Good luck with your Mind Fields, get help if you need it. It is there for all of us.

Kelly

You are such an inspiration Kelly. I have been friends with you since I joined last year and truly you have helped not only me, but so many here in OH. Thank you and Congratulations. You have had your ups and downs, but you sure have done well and always move ahead. WTG!!

Question for you, what do you mean by fixing dog wars from your panni? I am looking into plastics so curious what that is.
