"Growling" when I eat
OK I'm starting to get a little self-conscious after this problem...
When I start to eat (even after the first bite) my throat starts to make a growling noise. I would rather burp but sometimes a burp just doesn't come up.
Is there anything that I can take like Gas X that may help or is this just something I need to get used to? I try to eat at my desk with the radio on to muffle the sound but I think it's louder than that.
Can anyone recommend anything? I should mention that I'm 5 weeks out

I had/have the exact same issue, especially in the first few months after surgery. I don't get it as often now (five months out) but it does still happen on occasion. I think it's just something we have to get used to unfortunately! If it makes you feel any better, unless I was sitting directly next to someone in a very quiet room no one seemed to be able to hear it :) It sounded like a bear growling to me, but didn't seem that loud to anyone else! I think it's just our stomachs working on digesting food.
I'm just over 6 weeks out and my sleeve is definitely 'vocal' when I eat! I usually get a few bites in, but then I start hearing noises. It feels like it's in my throat, but I think it's coming from my stomach. I don't know if it's air or digestion noises. It sounds REALLY loud to me. I've no idea how loud it sounds to other people though!
Yesterday for lunch, I had homemade turkey soup. I was talking to a coworker for a bit as he stopped by my office. I was near the end of my meal. And I was super embarrassed by the sounds that my tummy was making! I don't know if Gas-X strips will help but if anyone has ideas, I'd love to hear!

Exactly, it feels like it's in my throat!! I think I can handle this more than if the gas travels to my southern end :) I know my husband can hear it when we have dinner ... he says ut sounds like the alien in the movie Predator. so supportive!!
