body wraps?

So, a girl I work with has started selling those body wraps that claim to tighten loose skin and help you loose inches. She has gone on and on about how well they work for her, everyone she sells them to, yadda yadda. Has anyone tried these things? Do they work? My first reaction is "yeah right!" but I'd be interested to hear anyone else's experiences...

Are those the "It Works" wraps? Guess what, they don't work. They can temporarily make skin look tighter, but so can $10 Nivea lotion. You know what else can tighten skin temporarily? Believe it or not, a little Preparation H and some saran wrap. Apply, wrap and give it an hour or two. Different things applied topically can technically cause a temporary difference by reducing the fluid your skin is retaining. It only works for a matter of hours though.

Try dry brushing, firming lotion or the prep H. None of these things will actually tighten up your loose skin, but they may make it smoother for a little while. These 3 things are all very inexpensive as well if you want to give them a go.

Yeah, that's what I thought... Too good to be true! I have used the Nivea skin firming lotion in the past, more because I liked the scent than because it worked. Dry brushing seems to help keep things smooth, but I still have that melting candle look ;)

Thanks!

Sadly nothing really works other than surgery, but there's a few things it doesn't hurt to try.

love this response..if your not 20 and don't have really good muscle tone, the flab will never bounce back without surgery for probably 90 % at least, stretched skin is just that stretched skin~!

prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.

life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!.  Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!
