One Year Surgiversary!
Well, here I am, one year later! So much has changed in this last year…I don’t even know where to begin.
My starting numbers were: 273.8 lbs, BMI of 51.7, size 26 pants, 4X tops and 10 shoe.
My current numbers are: 166 lbs, BMI of 31.4, size large pants and tops and 8 shoe. I have also lost 65 inches since I started this journey.
I have many NSV whi*****lude but are not limited to the following: I can cross my legs, bend over to do up my shoes, I go the gym on a regular basis, I started running, I do yoga, I have gone skating and sledding with my daughter, I can shop in any store, wrap a regular sized towel around me, do stairs without gasping for breath, sit in chairs without the arms digging into me, I am not afraid to sit on anything now, I have more energy to play with my 4 year old daughter, I don’t have constant back, hip and knee pain now, so I don’t have to take pain medication anymore, I have signed up to do the Mud Hero in Ottawa!!
I am not going to sugar coat it, there have been hard times over this last year, but, it has been totally worth it for me J I started out with a couple of minor complications, then I had to figure out what I can and cannot eat (sugar is not my friend). I have had several episodes of possible gallbladder attack or food stuck (both have similar signs and symptoms, which are very painful), but, I haven’t had this issue for almost 2 months now. I have had a hard time finding a good multi vitamin that doesn’t make me feel sick when I take it, but, I am still on the hunt, lol! I am sure I will find something at some point in time!
My husband and I have had to work through some issues as I have moved along in my journey. He has always been supportive, but, it is a huge life style change which has affected him and the kids as well. We have done pretty good I think and I am looking forward to all of the things we will be able to do now that I am healthier and fitter, like the Mud Hero Event J
I wish that I would have known about this surgery years ago and had been able to do it! I feel like I robbed myself of the first 39 years of my life. I plan on enjoying the next 40+ years to the fullest extent that I can!
I will post pics shortly

The race isn't given to the swift nor the strong, but it's given to the ones who endure it to the end...
Thanks for your great post.......
It is inspiring to read your story and who would've though I might one day have smaller feet lol. Even though I am only one month post op....I too already regret waiting until I was 40 to start this journey. Congrats on all your weight loss and success. Good luck at Mud Hero (sounds like fun).
Take care, Tara
So wonderful to read your progress. I am sure that doing some of those activities with your daughter made the time so memorable for you both!
Looking forward to seeing your pictures. I get a lot of inspiration from folks who have gone before me. Thank you for posting.

Just a side thought... have you looked into the GNC powdered multi's? You can add them to shakes, or even jus****er, etc. I found the one I tried a heck of a lot easier to handle and not feel ill. Also if you go state side the women's 1 a day petites.
