Santa Maria is beautiful!! I was there in 2008. Which resort are you going to? We stayed at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria. At the time it was an adults only resort. Loved it!! The beaches are amazing. Beautiful white sands and turquoise blue water.

Went to Cayo Coco in 2010, beach wasn't as nice and the food wasn't as good.

Dominican in 2012.....Oh how I miss the Caribbean!!!

I've been to Mexico a few times this winter and I have no trouble finding protein and lots of it. I don't eat a lot of eggs but they have fresh meat and other goodies that aren't traditional breakfast food like turkey but I need my protein and don't want bacon and sausages.  Have a great trip!

I just got back from Cuba on Sunday....I too was worried about the food, but I had no problem.  Eggs and fruit in the morning, fresh fish and salad at lunch and dinner, like said in previous post the food there is very bland and by the last day i was looking forward to coming home and eating my own food!! I brought protein powder and only had one shake....I brought some peanut butter and rice cakes and had 3, so I did pretty good....stayed away from the ice cream and desserts and fruity drinks:(

I have lost 4 lbs since ive been home......less then a week!

Have fun!!
