Hairloss Question

When we lose our hair, does it fall out at the root or does it break off?

That means all these little hairs that are sticking up on my head is new growth!!!!   YAYYYYY!! I have very fine thin hair to begin with, losing it was very noticable for me.

Yay, it's growing back! You might see a difference in the new growth - sometimes it will grow back curly or straight or a slight change in colour. Not always, but sometimes. It's definitely tough if you have fine hair to begin with, glad yours is on it's way back! 

OMG the whole thing falls out from the root!!! Like maybe 2 months after surgery mine started. I had THICK THICK shiny and healthy hair. The girls at the salon would always say YOU ***** we can bleach it, dye it 3 times in one day, straighten it and anything....and it is so thick never falls out and soo healthy.......WELL NOT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!! I am 8 months post op...so for the last 6 months it has been falling out bad and I was scared I was going to go bald. 

I posted about it even in this forum a while back. I try so hard to up my protein and even used expensive protein shampoos/hair products and nothing helps. Now when I dye it, it gets all damaged and breaks off, or when I straighten it. 

ONE GOOD THING is I see the last 2 weeks the hair loss died down a bit. Instead of my brush being full with hair that half way through I have to empty it, it only has a bit once I am finished doing my whole head. 

So we will see when it stops completely but just in my case, 2-8 months post op were bad. 

Ps-you may be different. I know a few people who hardly lost anything...... :) 

I am just over 9 months post op, it has about stopped falling out now. It just looks funny now. I have very fine hair to begin with, and now I have these little hairs growing back and sticking up

OMG ME TOO!!!!!!!!! I have little 1 inch hairs sticking up even when I have a ponytail I cannot keep them down unless I bobby-pin it hahaha. So weird. But the good news it, it is coming back in... THANK GOD!!

Mine has finally slowed down as well, ugh hate that part of this journey but at least it's almost over.

My hair loss has just begun. I had a shower yesterday and lost tonnes of it.  All over my clothes etc. I am worried as I don't have a lot of hair to begin with. Hoping I can get through the summer with a pony tail or clip it up.

Sunny, I bought Nioxin shampoo and conditioner from my hair dresser. Not cheap by any means, but I believed it helped.
