Got surgery date

  I am on the stand by list  for surgery but at this time booked for sept 2/14 at 8 am. A little disappointed it is so far away but I am on standby. I have to do optifast for 3 weeks and can do my PATT blood work when I go pick it up in august. 

Glad to hear you got your date but that is a way off eh?  What does that mean "on standby"? Does it mean you get priority if there is a cancellation?

No it just means I am willing to take a cancellation surgery date because I don't have to take time off work and don't need to find care for my kids as my mother In law lives with us. 

Oh, ok - hope you do get a cancellation - good luck to you !

Dr. Hagen at HRRH in Toronto 

I waited along time for Dr Hagen and I am glad I did. He is worth the wait. Best bedside manner ever for us emotional mums. Every morning I woke too "good morning sweetie, how are you feeling?"  My roommate never saw her surgeon, only the resident 

dont worry about the long wait time! It will be here sooner than you know it! I received my surgery date last week from dr. hagen and it was for august 5th! It is a while away but from all the people that I have talked to on this site, they have said that he is worth the wait!

In both my personal & professional opinion, Dr Hagen is worth his wait (weight) in gold!  He is compassionate, understanding, technically sound (laparoscopic surgery is quite a difficult skill for them to learn) and a wonderful bedside manner. I have worked with over 100 surgeons during my career in 2 countries and none of them come close to his caliber!
