Hi, I'm almost 2 weeks out and I still find myself so tired and exhausted, am I doing something wrong?  I am trying to eat all my meals, sometimes I do miss a protein shake though.

I had surgery on Feb 4th, and I am just starting to feel better. We had major surgery, and our diets have changed ect, you need to rest, and to eat.Take you time, if you get full wait and go back to it. You need your protein and all other nutrients. You will do just fine.

Thanks for the encouragement.  :)    What are you eating at this time?

Hello

you just had MAJOR surgery. Some bodies have a difficult time more than others.

That said, push yourself a little each day and get that protein and water in more and you will start to develop stamina.

Couldn't have said it better then the other posters!

Rest up!! walk walk walk...sip sip sip... and follow the menu plan that TWH gave you. You should have got one from Katie, Lorraine or Mary.

Try to get in that protein shake. You may notice a difference and not be as tired.

you're doing fine. Rest when you need to, naps are your friend. Listen to your body.

You're body's been through a major change, it's tired.  And now it's trying to heal itself which takes lots of energy.  When your body says rest, rest.  Right now, everything is just a little bit at a time.  A little bit of food, a little bit of water a little bit of activity, and build from there.  Each day you'll be able to do a little more.

I agree with everyone too.  I am not quite 2 weeks out and although I want to do a thousand things... my body has other plans. Making sure (trying) to get those 2 shakes in (Premiere Protein shakes) makes a huge difference. Sip Sip Sip

Take care

even tho i have a mainly desk job, i took the full 6 weeks off work and am so glad that i did because i was soooooo energy-less.

lack of nutrition, plus surgery, plus adjusting to new routines etc.

I just re-read your last post about your 2 surgeries and ICU stay. I did not have the post op course that you did, I'm 4 weeks out and still have days. Listen to your body, pace yourself and take it one day at a time.
