Never felt so good to be benched....

I am still a little sore but finally home after only 48 hours. This last several days flew by for me and now I am resting at home "cuddled up" on the couch. The surgery went fine with no complications. However, I think I underestimated the amount of pain. I kept reading on here that some even went home with just tylenol #3 but I was and still am quite tender. Thankfully and to my surprise, I was sent home with oxycodone. I am using them sparingly so I can get on some "painless" form of bowel routine (sorry...probably too much info). The nurses at TWH were kind and attentive but it was aweful sleeping at night. I was trying to use little if no pain meds but that didn't work out too well.

I didn't use half of what I packed even though I packed light. Started my period the morning of my surgery so was glad I took others advice and came prepared. They shrugged it off like it was no issue at all. I am trying to figure how to keep track of my water and protein throughout the day and the best way to even get the protein down. I am drinking premiere protein shakes and protein powder in anything I can mix it insuch as sugar free pudding, yogurt etc. Any suggestions would be great.

Sorry for the long post. I am so gratefull for all of your support throughout all of this.

Thanks, Tara

Glad to hear you're on the bench! Sounds like everything is going well too. Keep working the protein and the water/liquids, and you'll do fine.

Sending hugs!
