why is it important to test for before surgery ?

Because it can be much harder to come out of anaesthesia if you have sleep apena. I did not know I had it before this process. After my surgery they kept me in recovery several hours due to my condition and had my apnea machine handy if I needed it. Plus sleep apnea can be very hard on your heart and other organs. You need to be sleeping well to heal well.

I can finally say that I see significant improvement from using my CPAP machine. I've been using it since the day they said I had to, but I didn't see any benefit until this last month or so.
