If your sugars go dangerously low you must take a small amount of carbs to bring them up. Then have your shake to keep them level. Back off more on your insulin. I would have your last shake late so you are not fasting as long asleep. It might go low and if your are asleep you maynot be as aware.

I am thru Guelph and the only things on the menu are the Opti, black tea or coffee, water with crystal light and 2, 1/2 cup servings of no salt added broth.  No other carbs allowed.  This is my concern.

I reduced my insulin again last night since it was my first full day of Opti yesterday and my body is adjusting and my early morning glucose was a little higher than yesterday but I am positive it will even out.

Thanks for the advice!!!!

I am dreading it!!! Starting to prepare myself now. Shake for breakfast and lunch and a sensible dinner. My BMI is over 50. MD requires a 2 week liquid diet for those with BMI > 50.

I actually did that as well.  I used the premiere protein shakes with a banana and I found this filled me up.  If I was hungry I would snack on cucumbers with vinegar or a piece of fruit.

I could really go for some cukes right about now!!!!
