PURE PROTEIN PROTEIN BAR (Walmart)

not sure if any have found these. bought a box of 6 at walmart for about $12. i chose choc peanut butter. it is soft, yummy, and NATURALLY FLAVOURED. here are the details:
per bar (50g):
Calories: 200
Fat: 6 g
Cholest.: 10 mg
Sodium: 190 mg
Carbs: 16 g (1 g fibre, 6 g sugar alcols - NET CARBS 9g)
PROTEIN: 20g.
honestly, this is the best bar i have had in ages. just the right size for wls folks, great amount of protein as well. lots of the bars i had tasted yucky, or were really hard to chew. this one is super soft, the peanut butter tastes AMAZING, great for breakfast or cut in half for 2 snacks.
if anyone has any thoughts about this bar, please post here. i am always worried about the type of protein bars use (soy, whey iso, whey concen, etc.). this one posts soy protein iso and whey protein hydrolysate (i've never heard of this one before - have you?). i suppose not all proteins are equal so even though this bangs in with 20 g, i am wondering about the quality of the 20 grams. the price point is pretty good for 6 bars too.

oh yeah is awesome -- i know i have said it was the best bar i have ever tasted. but what is the calorie count for one bar? is it low carb? i really don't remember .... what i like about the pure protein is the portion size to carb to protein ratio -- it seems just right for someone early out of wls and who isn't working out too much. i remember eating the oh yeah when i was pumping iron and it yielded great results.
and you are SOOO right !! it is so much better than a chocolate bar!!!! AMEN TO THAT!
I love them I get them at Costco think they are cheaper.

These look great - and I love that they are available at walmart too. I will give them a try. Only thing I noticed was that they have some maltitol in them, which gives me terrible cramps and diahrea if I have too much, so I will go easy. Great find!

yes -- something about these sugar alcohols we all have to be mindful of. i read something about that recently. surprisingly, i have managed ok -- but i think you are right, we have to go easy with them. i am sure it would cause me problems if i ate them too often.
i think i am going to drop the dietician at TWH an email and as her about this type of protein ... get her opinion on it. i'll let y'all know.
Love Pure Protein bars :) They are the only ones I've tried, as I haven't found any other bars at grocery stores that aren't full of sugar and carbs, and I like that they aren't super expensive. I got some at Costco, 18 bars (split into three flavours) for about $18.
I found that the chocolate chip ones really upset my stomach - might have been the sugar alcohols, but the other flavours I have tried were really good and didn't cause any issues :) I don't know about the quality of the protein, but on days where I know I'm not going to hit my target or I am on the road, they really come in handy.
this would be third on my list my all time favourite is Zone Perfect and I buy it from the USA because I get $24 bars for $18.00...and although I have never considered myself a chooholic, the two varities include double chocolate and a chocolate almond..both delicious.
