feeling sorry for myself

just a mini vent.
i stalled right out of the gate for 3 weeks. have been only able to drop 24 lbs since my surgery date of Oct 29, and, despite seeing the change in my clothes and face, am disappointed that it is not coming off faster.
i am trying not to compare myself to others, but heck i am human. it sucks to only say i have lost 25 lbs in 9 weeks of a wls. not impressed.
Depends on alot of factors. ie how heavy you were to begin with. Personally, I lost over 20 lbs on the 2 weeks of OPTI, to begin with. I had VSG and my loss seemed to be faster than many of the people I saw on here with RNY. I had no stalls either. I think it depends on what you are eating as well. I focused on low carb for the first 6 or 7 months..so not sure if that would make a difference. I was down at 10-15 pounds every month from surgery onward until I reached the goal I had set. I don't know why some stall so regularly and for so long - I'm sure there are reasons that may or may not be within your control.
. Water water water...I still drink tonnes of it! Look at the bigger picture rather than the numbers!
Yes we are all human and compare ourselves with others and that's the problem because we are all different.
There is a lot that goes into us loosing and how slow or how fast we loose. Age, the weight we have to loose because someone with a higher weight may loose it faster than someone with a lower weight, metabolsim etc.
One thing some people do is become scale focused and get upset when they do not see that number move everyday or every week.
Like I said before you are doing great you have dropped pounds and by the sounds of it inches as well and you just need to relax and stop comparing yourself to others.
Are you tracking your food at all, are you on MFP if you are what is your name maybe following other VSGers will help.

Hey Nananto -- way to go on almost being at goal. God's willing i too will know how that feels. :)
looking at your numbers, i think you were slow and steady as well, right? you lost your weight in about a year -- while some RNY's drop 100 in 3 months (again, keeping in mind what weight they started out at).

I know it must be frustrating but 25lbs in 9 weeks is actually really great progress, it is 2.8lbs a week, very healthy weight loss, in one year if you keep on the same track you could lose 144.4lbs not that you have room to lose that much. Your body is is shock from what just happened and needs to adjust. Check your clothing do they fit better? As your scale may not be moving as quickly as you would like the inches may be dropping and your skin is tightening. You are doing awesome!!!
Take a look at this chart:

While everyone loses at a different rate, it looks like you are on schedule. You are doing great, don't give up, just keep following the rules and the scale will show. Hey, the NSVs are as important if not more important than the SVs.

Cathy - i have seen this scale posted before and, to be honest, have never paid attention to it. this being said, i have now studied it closely and i am actually SURPRISED that i am on range according to it!! i have always seemed to be outside the norm for most things so was too worried to look at a chart and see that i, once again, FAILED. alas, it appears i AM doing ok.
thanks for this ... i have saved it onto my PC for future.
