Confused
I had surgery Dec 3, so it's been a month and a week now.
I just had my one month w surgeon and he said I should be eating roughly 1200 cals a day now? My weight is still very high, it goes from losing a pound to gain it back the next day. The dietitian don't help, they don't answer or call back. Very frustrated w them actually.
I can't find my orginally paperwork, due to it being misplaced w Christmas stuff and decorating happening.
Can a vet out me out here. What's my cal range? My carb range? My protein is alway at 80-110.
I don't wanna waste my " honeymoon time"
Sometimes if you do not eat enough you will not lose. You body tries to hold onto the fat. So your surgeon is suggesting you up the calories. It is all about how you do this. Go back through the What are you eating thread. There have been some new people on there and see what they ate. Try to stay away from simple carbs like rice pasta or bread. Protein first then vegetables or fruit and you should do fine. Not sure what hospital you are out of but TWH has their paper work including menu ideas up on their website. This might give you some suggestions. Right now so long as your protein numbers are good I would not worry about anything else.
I have looked at the what you are eating thread and it confuses me even more. Someone around same time out as me is eating 700 cals as me a day? I find that thread good for idea of what to eat, but if isn't a good guide for me.
I am eating protein first, then vegs and fruits. I don't eat rice or pasta and extremely limited bread.
I had surgery at HRRH.
I need a guideline a range.
Could you post the website link to the TWH page? I think it may be helpful for menu ideas
Thanks

an rny from facebook told me all she does is focus on her protein amounts. if you make sure you are getting your protein and follow the notion that protein first, 2l or more of calorie-free beverage, and everything else afterwards, you should have success.
i was told at my 1 mth follow-up that we should not be thinking calories. just focus on protein and water.
I have always found it frustrating that every cilinic / surgeon gives different advice. So I am 10 months out and only now getting to 1100 - 1200 calories per day. My clinic had me at 800 until recently. I work out usually an hour a day or at the very least 5 days a week. So not sure what to advise you other than I am shocked they said 1200 at this early stage.
