Hospital bag!!!
I would take to the hospital the following items:
- Chapstick in a baggie (so it doesn't roll off your table)
- Something to read/do (books, magazines, ipad, etc)
- Pillow (both for your stay and the ride home)
- All of your medications and vitamins (to show them and in case you have any questions about anything)
- Really comfy clothes for the ride home (like big and loose so they don't hurt your stomach area)
- Slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, deodorant, hand cream (it is dry in there)
- Cell phone and charger
- Headphones-in case you have a noisy roommate!
I wouldn't pay for the phone or TV, you will be mostly sleeping/walking.
I wouldn't worry about pajamas or anything else to wear at the hospital. You are best to wear the blue hospital gown the whole time and you can put one on backwards for a housecoat (that way, you don't get blood on your stuff!)
I would think they would provide shampoo and soap for showers, but you could take your own if you want.
Good luck!
