3 weeks post op today!

steps - 2931 not bad considering I was sleeping for a couple of hour during the day. Yes I made Christmas dinner for my family (hurray for sick Mom)!

I wish I had your energy Barb.

I am still bagged out by this cold/flu.

I got all my vitamins in and water but I am afraid I haven't been eating a lot.

Today is weigh in and I lost 9 pounds this week - not a good or healthy way to lose weight.

Now the congestion is settling in my lungs and I am not sure what I should be looking out for by way of post-op lung complications as the cold would always hurt my lungs in the past.

Going to keep socking the fluids in and maybe try a protein shake today.

Happy travels North!

Ughhh....sure hope you feel better soon......I hope you can feel the difference between a regular cold and an infection.......a quick trip to a walk in clinic might be good eh?

Re energy........yours will come......first you are trying to recover from surgery....you have been working.....Chirstmas.....and a cold.....that would knock anyone flat

Take care

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. This was certainly a Christmas season I won’t forget. Even with its inconveniences, it was a lot of fun. It was kind of like being at our cottage in the winter when I was a kid.

I’m looking forward to getting back to my routines and back on track.

The challenge for today is to figure out how to use my fitbit flex--Thank you Santa!

Have a great day everyone!

Morning Barb! I like to do the same thing - no lingering Christmas decor. When it's over, it's over. I left mine up at home because we will be back before New Year's and we're having people over. But on January 1, down everything comes! I love the feeling of a fresh start in the new year that having everything down gives me.

Well, yesterday was a write off foodwise. I had the day planned out and then ate terribly.  I didn't completely lose control, but enough that I can't really track what I did accurately. It seems harder at my dad's place because they have so much junk food out on plates during the holidays.  Today I'm determined to resist it after a bad start when I woke up this morning. I think I can make it work.

Tonight is another big family dinner, but those aren't so bad since they tend to be meat and potato type meals and those are great for the WLS diet. It's all the crap served between meals that I find to be the killer.

1 YEAR POST-RNY

B - 1 glass of milk and (yes bad but I'm tracking it and moving on) 1 chocolate snowball

S - 1 oz cashews and 1 clementine

L - Leftovers: 4 oz turkey, and 2-3 tbsps each of turnip, peas and carrots, roasted potato, stuffing, topped with 1/4 cup turkey gravy

S - 1 clementine and 1 cookie (building it in since I know it will happen anyhow - for me, planning it is better than sneaking it)

D - 4 oz baked ham, 1/4 cup scalloped potatoes, a small spoonful of baked sweet potato casserole, and 1/4 cup of broccoli

S - 1/2 slice pumpkin pie for dessert

TOTALS: 87g protein, 59g fat, 127 carbs, 11g fiber, 1401 calories

Calories not bad but proportion of carbs to protein is atrocious! Oh well, I know this is how it will be today, so at least I can try to control it a bit by having a plan! :) Have a nice Boxing Day, everyone!

Reading 1 chocolate snowball cracked me up.

You have a great mind-set -- being so cognizant of your carbs vs protein counts. But sometimes, IMHO, I think we need to be easier on ourselves. Like Barb said, "its Christmas...you're at goal"... enjoy!
