I had a cold for a month and thankfully got over it 2 weeks before surgery.

Have you been sick long? do you think it could be just food poisoning or something else that'll be over quickly?

But you probably need to call your surgeon's office.  They will most likely reschedule you.

at Patts they had told me if i was still experiencing symptoms the day before surgery call my surgeon so they can reschedule.

2 weeks is a long time, chances are this bug will be a thing of the past by then. If you continue to be febrile go see your GP so they can decide whether antibiotics are necessary.

I was on antibiotics a few weeks pre op, the only thing I noticed post op was the need to do extra deep breathing and coughing since my chest was still a tad congested.

Get plenty of rest and fluids!

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Better now than in a week....this way you will have plenty of time to recover and no hiccups with your surgery.

Take care and have a great holiday!

I was sick before my surgery and the Anethetist started me on Prednisone because my asthma was so bad.  He said that he would have the last call the day of surgery and if he and my surgeon didn't  feel it was safe they would have cancelled. I did have issues still in OR with my asthma but they went through with it and I am so relieved that they did.
