Congratulations!  This is such a huge NSV.

Your doctor must have been so pleased to see such positive results on your sleep study!  The surgery is truly life saving in so many ways, isn't it.

Best regards,

That's awesome. ..how long after your surgery you have found out that you don't need your machine? Did you have to go through another sleep study to find out? I'm hoping that after me losing certain amount of weight I will be able to get rid of it. Prior your surgery did you have to submit a printout how often you're using your machine? Did you had to wear it in the hospital? I would be very grateful if you can share your experience with the CAPP machine. Thanks, JK

Hi healthy new life I apologize for not replying to your questions when you posed them.  After going through the pre-op process and getting a surgery date, I made the decision that the surgery was not for me, after all.  Through the process I had continued working with the dietician at the family clinic where I am a patient at TWH.   I had used the cpap machine for just over 5 years.  After I lost over 90 lbs I had another sleep test in 2 phases, one with the cpap machine and one without, that is when the specialist determined that I no longer have sleep apnea.  I was and continue to be elated at this result.  I then had a bp monitor on for a couple of days and am awaiting the result of that, I am hoping to say goodbye to high blood pressure medication which I have taken for 15+ years.  During the pre op process I did have to have the sleep clinic confirm that I had sleep apnea and as I understand it, WLS patients do bring the cpap machine to the hospital when they go in for the surgery.  So I hope this answers your queries and I wish you the best in your weight-loss journey.
