A little disappointed with my surgeon

alysan - sorry you had a bad experience.  the posts listed below are great -- he could have been backed up, having a bad day, etc..  despite those possibilities however, i do understand that his approach was still unsettling for you.

i think katie has a point - a lot of these scientific folk lack people skills.  i think this could really be a coping mechanism for many (especially surgeons).  very few are blessed to have exceptional medical skill and exception people skills.  i guess we have to realize that the latter is few and far between -- so we just have to weigh it all out and just embrace the knowledge that you have a respected surgeon who does good work. after all -- he may have a **** personality, but he may be a fantastic surgeon!  which is more important to you at the end of the day?

My doctor was just like a business meeting.Quick and breif.But what was weird when I asked him about the dogs on a picture he talked to me more about them then the surgery.He is good at what he does.I saw him once after the surgery.I saw him two times for post op appointments but he is very fast and then he is gone.But I knew this going in to see him.
