Vitamins

So when i went for my visit with the RN i was informed my Vitamin D level was so low that i have to supplement 6000iu of vitamin D daily to bring it up to a normal level. I had been taking the pills but found Vitamin D drops and love them only 2 drops for me 3 times a day and they are odorless and tasteless, i wish all my vitamins could come in drops. My B12 was also super low so i am taking half of a subingual 2500 tablet everyday until i retest next month.
I was also able to find Kirkland prenatal vitamins with 27mg of iron and 7.5 of zinc, i hope it tastes okay crushed for the first little while. For Calcium i found Wellese at Costco 2tbsp = 1000iu of Calcium Citrate and 1000 iu of Vitamin D, so i will need 3tbsps to get my 1500iu a day.
I have started taking everything now to get in the hang of when to take everything and so far so good except the calcium supplement in liquid is a bit sweet.
If you have any suggestions of things i could be missing please let me know, i am on the hunt for fiberiffic and think i can find it at Walmart
You don't really need to crush the vitamins... I used a pill cutter, as long as it's about the size of an m&m or smaller, it will be ok. For the B12, why don't you get a shot from your dr? I did that for the year or so.

I have it covered under insurance but it actually costs more to fill it than buy over the counter at Costco for 5$ the filling fee at the pharmacy is just over 14$ and i pay 20% difference from what my insurance covers so i end up paying more. I am happy to find out that my insurance covers the tinzaparin shots
I take the Kirkland prenatal vits as well, they are excellent. I also used the Wellese calcium from Costco. I recently switched to the Jamison soft chews calcium with vit d. I loved them but they were (TMI alert) making my bm's very sticky. I know gross, but I was already having by issues and these chews were making things worse. So, I found Costco has a Kirkland brand calcium citrate pill with vit d as well. I need 4 per day though, but much better for me to tolerate.
I was crushing my guts as well for the first week or so, but honestly that was horrid. I was so worried they would get stuck. But truly, breaking them in half is perfect until you feel more comfortable with taking them whole.
Good luck on your journey. When is your surgery?

I also take Vit-D drops in 1000 units bio emulsion and 2-3 drops is more than enough...
for Calcium...I take Calcium Citrate by Jamieson...right off the store shelf
prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.
life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!. Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!
