going out to eat - petrified

I also liked the balsamic chicken and would try that again, many foods that I use to like I have lost interest in but try things and go slow as of yet I have not had any issues . I eat slowly and only what I like at the time so if I plan on doing tuna at lunch and have a bite but do not like it I toss it and settle for a yogurt or something else. I find I waste a lot but I will try the tuna again in a week or so, I waste so much due to the fear of being sick on it so as of yet I push nothing and go slow. Enjoy your night out and let us now what you settle on
At first I was ending up with a lot of wasted food and I guess that's why I have stopped trying new things, just sticking to protein/veggies. But it's better to try new foods and throw them out then be in a trap of only eating protein and veggies for the rest of my life! I ended up going with the quesadilla, even ate the tortilla with no issues. I have stayed far away from bread until now, haven't tried toast or anything so I wasn't expecting it to sit well but so far so good. I think I'll definitely try the balsamic chicken next time though.
Thanks!
Look at the Bacon Kobb Salad -- made with spinach, chicken, bacon, hard boiled egg, mushrooms, green apple, trail mix -- and get dressing on the side. That salad would probably last you a week!! And I'm sure they'd omit anything you want them to. Tell them you have allergies (if you mention stomach surgery your friend may start asking questions. The salad looks delicious.
Being prepared and planning ahead = success. And it sounds like you are doing the necessary planning!
I didn't see bacon kobb salad on the menu, but maybe my local restaurant doesn't have all the things on other area's menus? It definitely looks delish from your description!! I'm going to the Pickle Barrel on Thursday for lunch and I think they have something similar - definitely going to try a cobb salad there ;)
Thanks for the advice!
If there is a soup you like, stick with that. Other than that, the suggestions you've been given are really good. I would only add 3 tips. Unless you are having soup, ask for a take out box right away. Just tell your friend it's the easiest way for you to portion control, put what you won't eat in the box right away. 2nd, ge****er. I know we aren't supposed to drink with our meals, but the occasional sip is OK if your food is too dry for you. Small bites, then you will know if it's dry or not.
Enjoy your night out!

I wish I had asked for a take out box right away. I ended up eating about two bites too many, and I didn't feel sick but I knew my pouch wasn't pleased. I got that distinct over-filled feeling. I did end up getting a glass of water, and kept my intake to under 1/4 cup. Definitely don't want something too dry going down! But other than eating a little too much I had success tonight!
Thanks :)
