From trots to nots and another question
Hello!
I was grumbling to my husband this morning that I hadn't had any action in the bathroom for 5 days. So I took a Metamucil - he said ' You've gone from trots to nots'...I thought that was funny at 6 am.
One or the other for me I guess.
I am also getting a great tickle in my nose followed by sneezing - I have surgery on Thursday. Has anyone used 'Airborne' or any other cold fx type stuff? I don't believe it has sugar...
Constipation is the worst. Still battling that at 6 weeks out. Hopefully you see some movement before Thursday!! Trots to nots is funny ;)
For the cold I caught right before surgery I took Buckleys Cold & Flu tablets, and I've heard mixed reviews on Cold FX. Some people swear by it, some people say it doesn't work... I have used Airborne before and it didn't do anything. Maybe it depends on the person. You could try Cold FX and see what happens :)

In Ottawa, we are told to take 2 to 3 Metamucil capsules with EACH Optifast. So that is 8 to 12 capsules per day. For me I had Opti-trots real bad the first week so I was told by the APN to up it to 5 capsules PER SHAKE. So that is 20 Metamucil capsules per day. Metamucil capsules is the prescription for Opti-trots or Opti-clog.

Words of wisdom based on personal experience---be sure that you have had a bowel movement before surgery or it will be awful afterwards!! I didn't realize in all the hustle & bustle pre-op that I hadn't gone for 3-4 days before surgery day & then with the affect of the anisthetic on my body after surgery, I ended up being 11 days & a trip to ER for help before I got things moving again. A very unpleasant experience overall :(
Do whatever you have to, to go before surgery!!
