almost 20 years ago when I had my stomach stapled, I remember going to a very well known restaurant in Oshawa for breakfast and I asked for a poached egg and they would not make it for me...can you believe it? well I never went back and that was 20 years ago and that restaurant is still in business...lol...
Keep up the good work gwynnkitty!

Someone (hockeydad?? maybe??) posted a recipe a little while ago...easiest way ever to make poached eggs...and I have tried for years to make them. I had to tweak his way a little to get it to work for me, but here's how I do it.
Use a custard cup or a small bowl, or even a mug will work...fill with water and a dash of vinegar. Crack your egg(s) into it...and I put in microwave for 1min 15seconds to 1 min 30 (he did his only for a minute, but that wasn't enough time for mine)...scoop out with a large spoon (so water drains off)...and enjoy. (I also like to heat the water for a min or so before I add the eggs, but not sure its necessary.)
Easy peasy.....I am pre op and loving these on an english muffin.
ps...it was also recommended to poke the eggs prior to nuking with a toothpick ( I no longer do this step, and am fine..but it may depend on your micowave..)

You are totally correct..he did say to poke them with a toothpick prior to microwaving. ..I totally forgot that part as I no longer do that step....I poked them the first few times but didn't really see a need, and have omitted that step the last few times and they have come out fine...but it may depend on the amount of time you nuke them and on your microwave.
Thanks for the reminder, as I should have put that in ...just in case...
I see your surgery date is just around the corner...not long now...sending you positive thoughts and vibes and a quick and painless recovery.

ps..going to edit my post and put that step in...
