eating out
I'm on my second day of regular soft foods and today I had to go out of town overnight on short notice. For lunch i managed to buy some tuna and weigh****chers whole wheat tortillas and I ate half no problems. I just didn't know what i could have for dinner. So I bought some swiss chalet chicken breast and a veg medley. It didn't sit well unfortunately. Managed a few bits of the chicken and my tummy was so upset. Does it have so much fat or the chicken just doesn't agree with me?
Maybe find a Wendy's and order their chili? Maybe the chicken was too dry and that's why it's upsetting your belly? The vegetables in the medley are pretty firm also, not a soft or mushy. That could be the issues.
wendys chili, their bakes potatoe may also work for you. If swiss chalet is your only option order their baked potatoe w reduced sour cream and shred some chicken up with it.
You may have over eaten too? So easy to do without having a scale or cups.
good luck and take care
( I'm still post op, but about about to start week 4 of opti, after I finish full liquids I won't be quick to order soup when solid or puréed is available, hahahhahaha )
but you are right, an options for sure
I'm a week in to soft foods - chicken breast kills me. Even if I think it's moist, I guess it's just too dense. Maybe that's what was sitting wrong? I can eat firm cooked veggies no problem too so I doubt that was it. I'd say it was the chicken breast!
If I am forced to eat at a restaurant I try to go to Tim Horton's and get chilli. If I can't go there then I stick to whatever looks to be the simplest thing on the menu ingredients-wise, with whatever will be the lightest or most moist meat. If all else fails I go for soup :) As someone else said maybe at Swiss Chalet the best choice is the vegetable medley but with a chicken leg, as it would have more moisture. And I'd ask for some gravy to help as well. Or maybe even the Swiss Chalet sauce, although I'm not sure what the sugar content is in that, if there's any. :)
Yeah, I think the breast doesn't agree with me at all. I had the chalet sauce but, I didn't want to chance it as I thought it had too much sugar or fat. I didn't even think about soup tbh and the veges where pretty good though, I didn't have a problem with them. I just avoided the legs thinking it was higher in fat.
